Is TheUserOpinion free to use?

Yes. Reading and writing reviews is free, and so is claiming a business profile.

Who can write a review?

Anyone with a genuine experience of a business. You'll need a free account, so every review is tied to an account rather than an anonymous form.

How do you handle fake or unfair reviews?

Every review is tied to an account, businesses can't remove reviews they dislike, and anyone with an account can flag a review that looks wrong. Flagged reviews go to a moderator, who takes down anything that breaks our guidelines.

How is the trust score calculated?

It blends five signals: the average rating (40%), the number of reviews (20%), how recent they are (20%), how often the business replies (10%) and the share of verified reviews (10%). That is why a handful of five-star reviews does not automatically outrank an established business.

Can a business delete a bad review?

No. A business can reply publicly and can report a review that breaks the guidelines, but the decision sits with our moderators — never with the business being reviewed.

Can I edit or remove my own review?

You can delete your review from your account at any time. Published reviews can’t be edited, so if your experience changes, delete it and write a new one.

What does "verified" mean?

A verified business has proven it owns its website domain. A review is marked verified when it came through an invitation the business sent and was written from the exact email address that was invited. Neither reviewers nor businesses can add the label themselves.

How do review invitations work?

A business creates a personal link for each customer. The link works for 14 days and only for the email address it was sent to; the review publishes straight away, is marked verified, and the business can reply to it but never edit or remove it.

How do I claim my business profile?

Search for your company and use the claim link on its profile. You'll prove ownership with a work email on your domain, a DNS record or a meta tag, then you can reply to reviews, invite customers and see your analytics.

Can I show my reviews on my own website?

Yes. Once you have claimed your profile, you can build an embeddable review widget in your dashboard and add it to any page with a short snippet.
